The name came from the way its leaves are attached resembling a pine tree (matsu) in the Chinese-style painting (kara-e). Its pine cone will open itself when dried, allowing the seeds in between to fly far.

The symbolic meaning of this plant is ‘Unwavering spirit’.

Exquisitely preserved in the form of a 1.6 x 1.6 inch resin cube. created by UNN no Nedoko in Kyoto, Japan.
A beautiful keepsake to help you observe and appreciate the wonder of botanical lives.
